Volunteers arrived early to set up gazebos, trestle tables, stalls, displays, tea tent, BBQ, candy floss stall and the all important bunting!
Direct sponsorship from the Croydon Partnership (Westfield) local businesses and in-kind donations enabled the Trust to provide free children's activities, tea, coffee and cakes, together with serving sausages at the BBQ for a small charge. With raffle ticket sales, candy floss, tombola, Ann's cupcakes, and donations the event raised £1,300!
A BIG THANK YOU to community groups for supporting our event: St Barnabas Church, ran the Messy Church and super Tombola stall, North West Clogg Morris Dancers performed, together with stalls run by 21st Purley Scouts, Friends of Foxley Common + Croydon Bee Keepers. Our local resident's associations in Reedham Drive, Hartley & District and Old Coulsdon came together and provided help with publicising the event and also volunteered their services on the day.
Mayor Wayne-Trakas Lawlor and Consort supported our event, visiting various stalls and choosing the best pictures of Her Majesty by children who attend Beaumont Primary School. A visit from Purley Fire Brigade - children enjoyed a demo of fire equipment and sat in the fire engine.
