Find out how our Trustee Nadine Dyer wants to positively impact the lives of disadvantaged children...

Tell us a bit about yourself…

I am married with 2 children, and have lived in Croydon for the past 15 years. I work at Deloitte where I lead inclusion within Financial Advisory and I am also the Chair of the Multicultural Network at I am a passionate about inclusion and thrive on making a positive difference for others. In my spare time I like to nurture my growing plant collection and enjoy pottering in the garden.

Why did you decide to become a Trustee at Reedham Children’s Trust?

I decided to become a Trustee at Reedham Children’s Trust because what Reedham does, in helping children to realise their full potential through education is something that I truly believe in.

Being able to give back and to help to have a positive impact children and young people is something I am passionate about. Every child deserves the chance to thrive and to look forward to a healthy, happy, and fulfilling adult life, so being able to help locally means even more.

Tell us about the skills and experiences you bring to the charity...

I am known as a strategic thinker, who takes action, and adds value to the projects in which I am involved. In addition, I am a leader and team player who is known and recognised for producing and executing disruptive scenarios that result in positive outcomes for all.

I have an excellent track record of building new business, forging strong relationships, developing partnerships, collaborating and making things happen through innovative and creative strategies.

I am passionate and committed to positively impacting the lives of children and young people from disadvantaged communities.

What are your hopes and aspirations for the children and young people we support in Croydon?

My hopes and aspirations for the children and young people we support is the same that I have for my own children. I want them to know and believe that they have the power to be anything wish. I hope they take all opportunities that come their way and learn through every experience.

Education, determination and stepping out of your comfort zone, can yield great success.

Do you volunteer outside of this role?

My role as Chair of the Deloitte Multicultural Network is a voluntarily role. It’s a role that that I am extremely passionate about and one that actually helped me into my role as Respect and Inclusion Manager. I find it incredibly rewarding to be able to enhance the experience of colleagues and bring people together to celebrate as well as discuss hard and sometime difficult topics.

I am also the Trustee of another fantastic organisation called The Youth Charter.  A UK registered charity and UN accredited non-governmental organisation Youth Charter has campaigned and promoted the role and value of sport, art, culture and digital technology in the lives of young people from disadvantaged communities nationally and internationally. The Youth Charter has a proven track record in the creation and delivery of social and human development programmes with the overall aim of providing young people with an opportunity to develop in life.

What’s your ambition for Reedham Children’s Trust longer term?

My ambition is for the charity to grow further, through more partnerships with other organisations and build upon the great work and impact that it is already having. Reedham is a long-standing charity that has moved and adapted throughout its 177 years.  I hope it continues to positively impact the lives of many more disadvantaged children.

We look forward to working with Nadine to raise aspirations for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged children in Croydon through education. In these challenging times, disadvantaged children living in poverty need our help and support now more than ever.
