Job Title: Community Fundraising Officer
Reporting to: Fundraising Manager
Hours: 21 hours per week (core days Tues – Thur; we offer a Flexible Working Policy through office-based & remote working)

Salary: £26,000-28,000 depending on experience [pro rata part time to
£15,600-16,800]

Purpose of Role: To develop and deliver the community fundraising element of a new and exciting fundraising strategy.

We are seeking a passionate, innovative, flexible, and dedicated fundraiser to join us as our charity starts to grow. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their skills in fundraising and communications as we expand our reach as a charity.  We are looking to employ a Fundraising Officer who will be committed to supporting Reedham Children’s Trust at a key development phase.

Key responsibilities:

  • To support the Fundraising Manager to develop and deliver a robust community, corporate and events fundraising programme to include:
  • identify, initiate, build and manage relationships with existing and new community supporters to maximise and sustain income, both off and online.
  • process incoming enquiries from community supporters and groups effectively and efficiently, whilst maintaining excellent levels of donor stewardship.
  • build, manage and develop relationships with Reedham’s Children’s Champions to maximise and sustain income.
  • recruit new supporters or Children’s Champions within the Croydon area
  • deliver specific community fundraising products and look for longer term marketable activities.
  • research, approach and source new support from community groups (including schools, local companies, faith groups, clubs, pubs, groups and individuals)
  • develop and deliver compelling fundraising activities for these groups to participate in.
  • coordinate events generating maximum publicity and awareness to reach agreed income targets.
  • work with the wider Fundraising team to develop the profile of all community fundraising activities.

  • To manage the charity’s communications and content, including:
  • Creating regular content for our public facing channels, e.g. website, newsletters and social media, to support the fundraising and raise awareness of Reedham Children’s Trust
  • Managing our multimedia resources, including developing and maintaining our photographs and images library
  • Reviewing impact of content and campaigns created on the website and social media through website reports and, for example, Google Analytics
  • Managing the website ensuring it is up to date and continues to reflect and enhance organisational goals

 

Essential skills/ Person specification

  • Two years’ fundraising experience or in a professional capacity with demonstrable transferable skills
  • Proven track record of raising income from Community fundraising and experience in one of the following disciplines:
    • Individual Giving
    • Corporate
    • Events
    • Digital
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound analytical, problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work proactively and independently as well as being part of a small team
  • Able to learn and adopt new skills quickly
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrable proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software: Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Sympathetic to the charity’s aims and mission
