Reedham has always been a big part of my family’s lives. My dad, Ringo Atvars, attended the orphanage and boarding school from 1968-1973 alongside his brother Tali Atvars. My family have directly benefited from their selfless, wonderful work, and it is such an honour to raise much needed money for them to help this continue for many others!

175 years ago, Reedham Childen's Trust was founded as The Asylum (orphanage) for Fatherless Children by the visionary Rev Dr Andrew Reed, one the great Victorian philanthropists and social reformers.
What we do

Reedham Children's Trust helps children who are growing up in families struggling with poverty, illness, disability or abuse.

Benefits of a boarding school education

If I hadn't have gone to boarding school then I probably wouldn't have carried on with education up to 'A' levels and wouldn't be focused on education in the way I am now. I found it easier to work when everyone around me was motivated.

Why we do it

Summer camp 2017

For the past three years, Reedham has provided a summer camp holiday, free of charge, for around 25 of our young people. Read more

School Kit and Extras Fundraising

Every term, Reedham receives requests for support with day to day extras that some of our families simply cannot afford. Read more

Research into the educational gap which exists between poor and more affluent children suggests that one contributing factor is that more affluent children often have a home environment which is more conducive to supporting their education than their poorer counterparts. Read more
