Judy’s Story

In 2017, I was diagnosed with breast cancer, and as a single parent to two highly emotionally dependent children, this came as a shock.

Carefully navigating how I would care for them during treatment and beyond was going to be tough but with the lifeline that Reedham gave our family it has been not only manageable, but life changing.

My children are thriving in an incredible boarding school where they can continue to be children, knowing that I’m getting the time I need to recover and they are not becoming carers for me.

Their strength has shown through and it has, and will continue to be, the making of them. Their schoolwork has improved and they are getting chances that I could never have offered them. They have bright futures. I’m content and comforted that they are cared for in any event that may come our way in the future, this feeling is priceless.

Without the help of Reedham I fear that we would have all crumbled emotionally and financially under the stress of our lives, but instead we are all thriving, which in the midst of cancer treatment is an unusual thing.

I want to thank everyone involved with supporting this charity.  Without it we would have all been lost.
