What we do Why we do it Why we do it Reedham Children’s Trust has been helping children for more than 170 years providing life-changing support to some of the most vulnerable children in the UK. Since the charity was founded, we have helped over 1,500 children in nurturing boarding schools. Our unique approach enables children to focus on learning and gain respite from their difficult home lives. The children we support are growing up in families struggling with poverty, illness, disability or abuse. Our solution means that children no longer have to face the daily pressures of their difficult home lives but still keep in close contact with their families. Children have the space to focus on their school work, to build strong relationships and enjoy simple things, such as regular hot meals for the first time in their lives. Despite the severity of their situation, many of the children we support are only just on the radar of social services. Reedham's intervention transforms lives and the needs of the child are at the centre of all that we do. A boarding school placement, within our ongoing support programme, can literally transform a child's life. What our young people say about boarding.
