Reedham Children's Trust

If you'd like to know a little bit more about Reedham Children's Trust and how your donation will help a vulnerable chid, please read on.

Reedham Children's Trust is the oldest Children's charity in Croydon, we have been supporting vulnerable children since 1844.

We provide targeted early-intervention support to disadvantaged children and young people and their families, who are failing to access education or make progress in school. We provide practical and motivational support through schools and communities, reducing the obstacles faced by vulnerable children and young people to enable them to gain the education, stability, resilience, skills and self-belief to fulfil their potential.

This year’s Christmas drive is supporting vulnerable local children, including those in care, living in a refuge, who have suffered a bereavement or have a parent with a serious illness – children whose day to day life can be exceptionally difficult. 2021 has been a challenging year for all of us, but for these children it has been significantly tough. Lack of money has never been so prevalent, and many of those we will be supporting may not even have enough food for Christmas, let alone the money to buy a present. That is why your support is so important; together we have the ability to make a child smile with a present under the Christmas tree.

These are just a few examples of how your donation will help:

  • From £2-£10 could help us buy small Christmas gifts, from Colouring Books and Crayons to Teddies and Dolls.
  • From £10-20 could help us buy vouchers for our older children at a shop of their choice or a food voucher for a family struggling to get by.

Last year we delivered nearly 900 Christmas presents to local children in Croydon schools – and this is a little bit of the feedback we got:

“I can’t believe Father Christmas visited my school!” (One young boy said to his teacher)

"This will be the best Christmas my family will ever have; I don’t have to worry about each child receiving a gift" (Local Mum)

We do rely on donations, which is why your support today means the world to us.
