Formerly a Senior Civil Servant and adviser to government ministers on welfare reform and employment policy, he retired in 2013 after 38 years of public service including ten years as Executive Director of Jobcentre Plus.

He was made Companion of the Order of the Bath in the 2008 Queen's Birthday Honours.

Married with three grown-up sons, two West Highland Terriers, one cat and a donkey, He has lived on the site of the old Reedham Orphanage for over 20 years, so has long felt an affinity with Reedhams work and mission.

Jeremy sits on both the Children's Committee and the Finance and General Purposes Committee.
