Reedham began as one of the first orphanages for fatherless children and have been helping children for more than 170 years. Developing into a residential school in 1950, and since the closing of the school in 1980 we have offered a unique grants programme supporting vulnerable children with their care and education at a nurturing boarding school.

Reedham Children’s Trust developed from the vision of its founding father Andrew Reed, one of the great Victorian philanthropists. He recognised that disadvantaged children needed not only food, shelter and care, but also the opportunity to develop skills through education.Read more
Rev Dr Andrew Reed was one of the great Victorian philanthropists. Rev Reed had a particular interest in helping children as a consequence of his own very happy childhood albeit that he was from a relatively humble background. He wanted other children to enjoy the same happiness.Read more
