Maya and her four children: Sarah, 10, Emily, 8, Sam, 4 and Jack, 1*. The family are relatively new to Croydon, they have been relocated here after fleeing domestic violence. The family suffered at the hands of the father, who was violent, controlling and emotionally abusive.

It was when she realised that not only her life was at risk but also the lives of her children, that Maya finally found the courage to flee. The family left with only the clothes on their backs. They are in emergency housing and for the first time in their lives reliant on benefits. They are struggling not only with the trauma but also the ability to pay for the most basic of necessities such as food.

Thanks to our supporters, we have been able to donate regular food & food vouchers so that Maya and her children have food on the table and don’t go hungry.
